Harley's crashing on Vulture Mine Rd.(AZ)
« on: February 10, 2008, 10:04:18 PM »
Today around 3 p.m., Myself and a friend were doing one last run back to Phoenix. To our surprise when we came up on Fireman's Corner and saw traffic backed up. Apparently a Harley Rider went into the turn a little hot for his bike and crossed the double yellow. Normally this would be a one person screw up, but another Harley rider coming from the opposite direction met up with the first rider. No fatalities reported at the time, but both were hurt pretty bad. It also didn't appear that neither were wearing helmets either.

Hope they were ok.

I know they have their cornering limits but I saw a sportbike go down on Apache Trail near Canyon lake.

Don't know if it would have made a difference in their situation, but it seems most of the Harly riders don't care much for helmets. Its like it makes them weeker or something. I even had a guy at a buddys house laugh at me because I was wearing my helmet. I don't ride w/o one.Doesn't take much of a clunk on the mellon to change or end your world. Besides , I don't like bugs and crap in my teeth and eyes.

I can honestly say I've never seen a harley rider wearig full "real" gear. I've seen a few with helmets, but they're always open face helmets. They always have on leather chaps and vests which won't do squat to protect you. Apparently they think that HD logo on all their gear will protect them.  :annoy:

I'm all for no helmet laws. Helps to purify the gene pool. :stickpoke:

Unfortunately, most of them seem to be in the middle-age crisis stage of life and have already bred... thereby tainting the gene pool.

Still... hope the riders in this accident are okay.

If that is the turn I am thinking of that you took me on, that turn can come on you quick with a suprise if you are not used to it or know where it is at.
