fork brace
« on: January 29, 2008, 09:36:11 PM »
I finally broke down and ordered a superbrace fork brace last night.  Everyone that has done the same have had very positive things to say about them.  I am really looking forward to finding out for myself.  I've done a few upgrades lately and this will be my last upgrade for a while.  I found a ebay store that sells them for $116.  I don't think that I would be able to find one cheaper than that.  They normally go for $135-$140.  If you got one, tell me if it made a difference for you.

I run the Holeshot and it help make a lot of difference. Another cheap upgrade to add with it is a set of Progressive Springs.

I do want to upgrade the springs and some racetech gold valves, but those will have to wait.  This is my last upgrade for the time being.

Thx, I will keep that in mind.  BTW, what does a setup cost?  I haven't priced them yet.

I got my fork brace today and it is a bit beefier than I expected.  When they say that the tolerances are close, they ain't kidding.  It fit like a glove and I can't wait to try it out.

They are supposed to be that way.

Not only that but the Super Brace is a 2 piece design for superior strength and is the best looking, especially for the price IMHO.

I figured that, it is just that the fit was better than expected.

I have one on mine too, as far as telling the difference, I'm sure it helps. But I can't feel a big difference.I bought it in a group buy on this board a couple years back. I had put the RT gold valves and springs in after the 1st year of riding. I think it was my 1st mod. That did make a huge difference. Then my shock was the 2nd mod. (a 98) also a big difference.   Dan

I took it out for a ride today and felt a nice difference.  It seemed to make the bike more solid during aggressive riding.  I must say that between all the upgrades, I am very pleased with my results.  I really wanted to ride a bit more aggressively, but there was too much traffic.  I want to go with the race tech gold valves and springs, but that will have to wait.

My current upgrades are:
SS lines front and rear
Busa shock - stock settings
Super Brace - fork brace

Sol - you got a link to that store? I tried running a search on eBay and came up with squat. Or are there any other online retailers that anybody knows of (other than ordering from the mfg)?

I added the link for the one that I bought and here is another link for a Tarozzi.  You may want to check with Blade as well.  I know that he has his sources as well.  The Superbrace is the one that I went with.  I don't know if the Super Brace is an overkill or not, but it is definitely a beefy brace.

 :thanks:

I found the Tarozzi yesterday but like the looks of the Superbrace better. Thanks, Sol!
