Inspection woes...arrgghh

Finally tried to get the bandit 'inspected' (this is a yearly thing in nova scotia but also this year a necessity because it has salvage papers)
Went to one spot that told me new non fairing headlight and signals weren't good enough to pass but everything else was fine. He suggested I go on ebay and reorder the entire fairing etc. Now obviously THAT wasn't going to fly.
Took it to the next place, and the guy NEVER even mentioned the headlight stuff at all, he checked it and made sure it worked and that was it. BUT he did say I need a rear tire, which I guess I can agree with. The bad side of that is I don't get to try michellins which I was kind of looking forward to. So IF he has time I get a new rear tire at 3pm, followed by my inspection sticker, followed by my license plate and FINALLY being on the road....it's all just so frustrating.
Just had to vent.

Dang that sux....but at least you have insp.  I wish AL had some sort of basic lights, wiper, horn type inspection for cars.  You have to laugh at what some people drive down here.  But, of course, being a hot rodder- I am glad in a way that we don't.  I feel for people in CA and MD were they are way too strict.

For bikes I think as long as the lights, brakes, and tires are in good shape- then you should be good to go.

Pennsylvannia has yearly inspections also.It used to be twice a year when I started driving!Good tires are a must. And if you had signals on and lights, that should have been all you need. Sound rediculous that he'd expect you to buy a fairing.  I'm not a inspection mechanic, but at the shop he checks tires, lights,horn,exhaust,steering head bearings,fork seals,brakes,a visual on the chain/sprocket...think thats about it.
   Nearby OH and NY doen't have inspetions,some of the cars that you see, you wonder what they might drop behind them.   Dan
