0-30 1.9 sec
0-60 5.5 sec.

0-100 15.8 sec
top gear time to speed
40-60 mph 7.0 sec

There was a good article in Sport Rider by Jeff Hughes in the last issue. A friend of his had been wanting to ride with him and when he finally did,the 1st thing his buddy asked,"When are you going to get a real bike?" Man have I heard that too many times! The Harley rider was thrilled with the ride on a unfamilar rt that he was taken on (Harley riders seem to like those flat straight roads) while the Author who picked his BMW from his stable spent the day going to a crawl on all the straights waiting for his pal to catch up.(It all sounds too familair) For some putting down the road @ 55mph and looking at the suroundings is pleasure. But for me it would be like getting on my lawn tractor and head to Buffalo.I guess to each their own,but before I would spend way too much for a Harley, I'd get a new tractor instead.  Dan

I don't know about all that but did y'all see the speed channel episode on Kurykan [or whatever that jap sounded Harley after market name was]?

They sank a whole boat load of buck$ on a screamin eagle 103 in. motor and got 122 hp and 114 #torque out of it.

With those kind of numbers even a lead block can do the 1/4 in under 10 seconds.

Granted, I could buy 5 or 6 used bandits for as much money as they sank into that one bike but it's an option if you're so inclined and financially able.

Yep, I've heard that from time to time too.....and every time it makes me want to puke. Most of the time it's from some no-neck mouth-breather who has his head shoved completely up......other times it's from someone who knows very little about bikes in general, but has seen some bike show on TV.
God save me from both kinds of people.....
I politely explain that my Bandit can absolutely burn the chrome off of any street Hawg in any kind of competition you want to name....well, except maybe the weigh-in competition.
I kind of use that question as a gauge of the person's mental acuity, if you get my drift....

With those kind of numbers you aren't going to get a 700lb bike into the low 12's, let alone 11's.

Everbody these days has to have a HD to be 'different', to be 'set apart' from the rest and to make one's own statement.  Seems kind of ironic because eveyone has one now.
Funny, now I'd like to build a jap. chopper to just to be 'different'.

Even their beloved and state of the art V-Rod will have it's butt kicked by .15 seconds in the quarter mile, by a stock Bandit, according to Cycle worlds testing.

My return comment for Harley Riders when they ask me when i am going to buy a real bike is...Every yuppie in town has one of those, and they all look the same.

I acutally saw an episode of "Pinks" where and old RF900 smoked a brand new VROD. The RF900 was ridden by a guy who was at least 300lbs.

The dude riding the VROD lost his $20,000 bike to a guy riding a $900.00 Suzuki. It wasn't even close. It was about the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I can't imagine what the VROD guy was thinking.

I did a escort santa to the rainbow house for abused kids ride this weekend. i rode with 2 road king harleys, 6 vtx 1300 hondas, 1 vtx750 aero and assorted other starliners and misc cruisers.
I was bored to death!
These guys take off like a 90 year old lady crossing the street. Poor bandit never got over 5000 rpm, never got in my powerband. Pipes from the honda, who had cobra shorties, drowned my D&D can out ( and the D&D is LOUD).

They asked me when I was going to get a new bike, one like theres, I said NEVER!
How there  heck these guys dont fall alseep I dont know. They are friends but gesh, I know why we dont ride together for sure.

Guy at work just got a dyna lowrider, $20,000 out the door, almost 1600cc, 100 mph and 65 hp, 723#.
