Sideways peace sign for me.  I wave at anything on two or three wheels.  I figure the trike and scooter riders need a lift.  Who needs to practise?

C'mon now, admit it - there you are riding down a lonely country road and you drop your left hand down and practice your wave!!  Am I right?

Do you go for the cool 45 degree point going down toward the other bike?  The smaller index finger point?    The full hand slap method?  Or the Queen Elizabeth curleque??

Be honest!

Jim

Yes, I use the "hang lose" thumb and pinky finger pointing down.  I was in Hawaii last year & rented a Road King and rode it around Ouahu.  All the wave backs were "hang loose".  I thought it was so cool that I've used it ever since.

I normally just nod me head. sometimes If I know im gonna be getting really drunk after dropping me bike home. Ill wave madly.
Just for the laugh sometime Im gonna get off the bike and any time a biker goes to go passed me Ill wave him down and shake hands with him then drive off.

in perth it's all about the nodding
people don't really wave here for some reason?
however- being on a 250 you barely even get that

I can understand that... it must be hard hanging onto the bike AND the earth down there, so a nod has to do the trick.

I read how to do the down-under nod, and apparently it's because you are passing each other on the right side, and your throttle hand is a little busy.

I like to start off early to the HD's with a subtle low 5 and raise higher and more obvious as they get closer without waving back ending up in a nearly Forest style wave until they finally give in...then a behind the helmet grin to myself for the entertainment of it all.

Used to be everybody waved at me when I was on a cruiser...now, it's been lonely the last week as NOBODY has waved!  What am I?  Chopped liver?

Do the sportbikes not wave because I'm NOT on a sportbike?  Do the cruisers not wave because I look too sporty?  Maybe nobody waves because of my dorky helmet??

I'm starting to get a complex...maybe it's time for a drive-by wave or two!

Jimbro, my question is *when do you actually teach*?   Do you sit in class and type while your students do "independent studies"?

(Sorry, just felt you needed a little abuse heaped on today!)

I've been wondering that myself!  I figured he took roll every day, then headed to the teacher's lounge to, ahem, grade some papers or do some, ahem, research.

Ahem.  Sorry, frog in the throat, I guess.

I am sure that even in Canadia they have THOSE kinds of sites blocked on the school computers.  He'll just have to keep doing his "research" at home.

He's not responding now, is he. Perhaps he works harder than you think.
Do or do not, there is no try.
