I also picked up a pc of plastic bag on my stock pipes. Spent hrs. with elbow grease and different cleaners/polishes. Never could get it all off.

They put dust controll on the dirt road from my hose. It's Mag Chloride...

They had just put down a wet layer of the stuff when I headed out. Smells like salty sardines! Went away though (I also have new headers too)...

That's not corrosive in any way, is it?
I think a good hose off is in order, anyway.

RESEARCH: Yeah, it is! Hose the sucker off well. It's thought to be related to increased corrosion in utility pole hardware, power lines, and vehicle electrical stuff.

'01 Infiniti I30 (AKA Nissan Maxima). Maybe I shoulnd't have called it starter belt, but as far as I remember it's the vertical belt that's on the left hand side of the engine when facing the car. Could be alternator belt. I only had my car for a few weeks back then and I didn't have the bike yet, so I knew a lot less about engines than I do now. :)
