Actually..the 429 Boss was a semi hemi. Still a ford but a good ford. They used them breifly in Nascar late 60's or early 70's. It was one of the few engines that would give the 426 Hemi a run for the money.

Mostly applies to drag racing in Top Fuel & Funny Car classes though. The Hemis weren't as domaneering in Pro-Stock and slower classes. The wedge motors (anyone's) tended to have better bottom end and mid range grunt.

Here's something you don't see too often anymore, a Chevy Hemi:

These were actually very competitive to the Chrysler based Hemis it Top Fuel & Funny Car and are still competitve in off-shore marine racing and tractor pulls.

This Arias/Chevy hemi motor is going into the T-bucket roadster one of my co-workers is building:

Well i was going to but LaBusa.org said that was for ^%$$%%*^*&*& a torn T shirt, beach shorts, with blown out flip flops were all the busa rider needs @ 175+!! The reason for my query is as follows. I have a Technic armoured suit and I find the pants bind behind the knees even on a Bandit. OK for 80 miles but circulation restrictive and after that I've gotta get the legs out front regularly or stand up, (breezy).
I tried out a Busa twice =COOL! However my legs were bent even more than a Bandit. I didn't own Armour then -I don't think the pants would work with a Busa... Still, dam near bought one THREE times. One was the Copper coloured (98?) job which was unrestricted and Speedo to 350K or over 200mph! Musta been a bit of a slug though. The guy put a jet kit and Yoshi cans plus other stuff on it so he wouldn't be late for work. :lol:
Maybe he just needed more power for towing a trailer 'O hawgs 't market.

Congrats on the Busa!  When I pay off my Bandit, I want to get a Busa.  I'm itching for a gixxer 750, but I think the ergo's would kill me.  The Busa didn't seem as bad as the gixxer.  Great choice on the color.  I recently bought three Maisto 1:12 scale Diecast model's of an 06' Busa, R1, and a ZX-10R




My model is the color of the real Busa pic, not the model pic I posted.

Congrats on the Busa.  I would buy one but my old frame just does not suit the ergos.  Enjoy the new ride.   :congrats:

Hey all! Thanks to the 80+deg great weather! I am 100 miles closer to being able to open this beast up. Going to do it right, or try hard not to go over 6k revs anyway. I don't know about the twisty's not being done on busa vs the Bandit? And the faster it goes the more it shines. The lean fwd that puts the stress on the wrists is advantageous @ big ticket! speeds! Which is where i spend a lot of my commuting time. Runs on reg gas just fine, ok by the manual, even though its 11 to 1 ratio. The on board trip meters also record your mpg which said 42 & 38. I know they aren't accurate! So far other than fugly as Red01 said what's not to like. I still get sad when i open the link to my Trusty Bandit...  :duh:  :banana:  :motorsmile:

Ok i may deserve the slam or two! But just got back from a visit to the Dealer i got it from. Good thing he just sold my B12 and it was about out the door! But i got to say! Guys these bikes will do it all (BUSA) Not bad around town and really shine on the road (85+) Just put my Yoshi TRS Cans on and after 100 miles of mixed roads the reading from the ECM is 42MPG w/ reg gas. Double checked it from fill up and it actualy figured 44mpg. WOW! And this ain't goin slow!!! Hey Red 01 let me know when i'm about to be thrown off the site I'll shut up... :duh:
