what do you use ? speakers or bud`s
« on: July 21, 2007, 11:39:09 PM »
for the longest time I used ear bud`s on my mp3 player but found them cumbersom to put the helmet on while keeping them in my ears . out of the blue an aerostitch catalog shows up with helmet speakers so for 25 dolla I figure  why not lol, I got the mid priced speakers . install was a no brainer and getting my lid on now is as easy as having nothing in at all . I do get slightly less fidelity at speed due to increased wind noise compared to the bud`s however convienience wins in this case . what do you use ?

So, where are the speakers?  Inside the helmet?  I'd like to know more...maybe a pic or two?

they fit into little pockets reserved for your ears in the lining of the helmet .they are held in by a velcro backer . when properly positioned they lightly press aginst the year

+1  :bigok:

My spare helmet & my wife's helmet are wired up with a Chatterbox intercom and it has provisions to plug in an outside music source. I used it for music a few times, but prefer the quiet, especially if I'm out enjoying the twisties.

That link isn't any good. Got a new one?

I had a Chatterbox setup and hated it. The sound quality was terrible and I couldn't hear a damn thing.

I use earbuds for now until there is a better solution.

Did you try the same link with the image tags removed from the end?

I use a $7 pair of headphones from Princess Auto.  Cheapest ones I could find.  I might just add the velcro on though, cos sometimes the right one falls out when I take the helmet off.

I have something similar to this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/KOSS-THE-PLUG-EARBUD-HEADPHONES-For-ALL-iPod-MP3-NEW_W0QQitemZ270147432054QQihZ017QQcategoryZ111693QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
They are AKG's, cost less than 20 with shipping from Hong Kong and I doubt that the Bose ones like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Bose-TriPort-Headphones-New-in-Box-never-opened_W0QQitemZ220132992572QQihZ012QQcategoryZ3274QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
are enough better to validate the cost and additional size.  The upside to the ones I have is they do a decent job of acting like earplugs too.  They are very small so putting on my helmet is a piece of cake.
