I NEED HELP WITH TOPCASE/TRUNK INFORMATI0N.....
« on: June 05, 2006, 02:51:34 AM »
ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A NICE “SMALL” TOP-CASE THAT IS JUST BIG ENOUGH TO HOLD ONE FULL-FACE HELMET AND A PAIR OF GLOVES; APPROXIMATELY 14” LONG X 10” WIDE X 10” TALL?....

IN NEW OR USED CONDITION, THAT IS LOCKABLE, AND COULD BE PAINTED.....

THAT IS MADE OF RATHER STURDY MATERIAL, (I HAVE SEEN SOME LARGER ONES THAT WERE MADE OF VERY FLIMSY MATERIAL).....

WITH OR WITHOUT A BRAKE LIGHT OR REFLECTOR.....

ANY LINKS OR INFORMATION WILL BE HELPFUL.....

THANKS.....

I WANTED TO TRY TO LOCATE A TOPCASE THAT HAS A PRETTY SMOOTH TEXTURE TO THE SURFACE.....

BUT I MAY HAVE TO SETTLE FOR THIS ONE.....

THANKS.....

The above quoted rule is true however, it is generally accepted worldwide 'Netiquette' to not type in all caps unless it is for special emphasis, like when you'd raise your voice. Therefore, typing with the Caps Lock on is like shouting your message.

Most will assume since you state you are from Maryland, that your culture is similar to the vast majority of the membership and English is not a second or third language for you. If using the shift key to capitalize in a normal typing manner is difficult or inconvenient for you, just type in all lower case, like Jay (GSXR400 racer) does since he was scolded for typing in all caps when he first started posting.

Back to your original question though... check eBay - there's several different kinds of inexpensive top cases available there that attach to luggage racks similar to the way the JCW one does.

We now have a policy on the topic.  Thanks for the idea.  As you can tell by the reactions to your posts, the all caps approach is like nails on a chalkboard to many.  You'll probably get better and more actual answers/responses if you make the effort type in a manner that's easier on the ol' eyes.  Thanks, man.

Type "motorcycle hard case" at ebay and you'll see a series of options.

Oh, and stop using all CAPS...

BASED ON YOUR RESPONSE, YOU WANT PEOPLE TO BE CONFORMIST RATHER THAN INDIVIDUALS.....

I GUESS THE NEXT THING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT WILL BE USING BLACK TEXT INSTEAD OF BLUE.....

A LOT OF YOU USE PHOTOS AND WAY TOO MANY EMOTICONS IN YOUR POSTS THAT I DON'T LIKE, BUT I DON'T ASSUME THAT JUST BECAUSE I DON'T PARTICULARLY CARE FOR THEM, THAT SOMEHOW THEY ARE PLACED THERE TO OFFEND ME.....

I THINK THAT TYPING IN ALL LOWER CASE IS TERRIBLE, BUT I DON'T POST A COMPLAINT ABOUT IT, BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MATTER.....

WHAT DOES MATTER, IS WHAT THE PERSON HAS TO SAY.....

EVERYBODY HAS THEIR PET PEEVES AND PREFERENCES.....

YOU BASICALLY WANT ME TO RESPECT YOUR OPINIONS AND PREFERENCES, BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO RESPECT MINE.....WHY?....

WHY TAKE SOMETHING LIKE CAPS AND MAKE IT A BIG ISSUE, JUST BECAUSE I SEE IT DIFFERENTLY THAN YOU DO?....

ARE YOU SEEKING TO COMMUNICATE WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE THEIR OWN DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES, OR JUST PEOPLE WHO HAVE PERSONALITIES LIKE YOURS?....

I REALLY THINK THAT YOU ARE MAKING A MOUNTAIN OUT OF A MOLE HILL.....

JUST "MY" OPINION.....

The JC Whitney cases are available in the small size (about what you want) or the large in the matte/flat finish -- it bolts right on to a Suzuki rack.  The gloss version might take paint better than than the textured matte however.

It has nothing to do with conformity.   :duh:   It's about manners and ease of reading.   We have a lot of knowledgeble peple on this board who take TONS (done for emphasis) time to answer questions and respond to posts.  Why not show them some courtesy?  :beers:  :bigok:    We're just trying to explain to you why people keep interrupting your posts by asking you to turn off the caps.  That's all.
