I ordered a new chain today, D.I.D. 530vm 112 links for $111.00 flat shipping and all. Does that sound reasonable for that type of chain? I screwed up and over tightened the original and wore it out. It was making some nasty crunchy noises similar to the bearings in one of the other threads.

The chain is being shipped from Cycle Depot in Los Angles. It should be here by next friday.

I just paid $135 for an X-ring chain, don't remember the brand. What kind of chain is it?

Which is one of DID's X-ring chains. A slight step down in strength from their ZVM model, but more than strong enough for your average B12.

This is a question for Red01 why don't we have a list of the best places to buy, with best service on shipping / returns etc etc ??? My choice was and still is....  this is for Vidrazor http://www.kgmotorcycletires.com/d_i_d_racing_chain.htm     Shipped and with great customer service these folk rock on chains etc .. I wasn't familiar with the brand and model, so that didn't register in the 'ol cranium.

I'll say these folk http://www.kgmotorcycletires.com/d_i_d_racing_chain.htm are better to deal with on chains than most that sell on ebay! The zvm'2 is the only chain that should be used on the Bandit or BUSA! or ZX 1200/1400 KAWI rockets! Even though I got 22k out of a fairly well maintained VM... Really you don't hear the other chain mfg's saying their's will hang with these torque monsters. Also rivet link only! who needs the drama of ? why would they make a rivet type if it weren't needed???   :beers:  :beers:

Sorry for the delay in aanswering your question, I've been off line for a while.

The chain brand is " D.I.D. " I bought the "vm" because it is more than strong enough for a near stock Bandit and I saved $40.

I think D.I.D. has the patent on the X-ring chains so that probably is the brand you bought too.

I like the idea of listing the lowest found prices of commonly used part and supplies. Chains, brakes, lights, tires and whatnots ....could be a few of the things listed. But I think he's right...might be some sponser conflicts in there.

The best they say and it comes on the Busa, but is only a few c's stronger & a bunch more $. Wear #'s is less than the DID from what i read on the ZX & Busa sites the did Xring'2 is the chain to get!

FASTLAP NOTES: The EK 530ZVX has over 10,500 lbs tensile strength! Weight is slightly more than the EK 530RXO or 530MVX chain, but this chain can take what your high horsepower ZX12 or GSX-R1300 dishes out. If you have a big horsepower street bike, you need this chain.
530ZVX: The Extreme Chain for Extreme Bikes
Anyone with a Haybusa, ZX-12 or one of the new generation of 180hp bikes knows how hard they are on chains. EK steps up with an incredibly strong Quadra-X Ring chain that has proven it's superiority.
Recommended application: 1000cc and up
Available colors: gold
Tensile strength: 10,560 lbs.
