I ran into this guy at the Rock Store up in the Malibu canyons about four months ago. My GF and I were on one of our semi regular rides up there and per usual we stopped into the Rock Store for some overpriced breakfast foods and watered down coffee and there he was in all his glory. A very cool unassuming kind of guy hawking post cards for a buck a piece to help finance his little adventure.

We chatted for a bit as people stopped by asking what the hell is that thing. He let me sit on the bike and let me tell you, its got some funky balance to it and is a lot bulkier than looks in the video.

Wow, first I run into Brun Kirby at the gym and now I meet "The Roving Dutchman" at the Rock Store... I love L.A.

I just read an article in the new Cycle World about a guy who rode a Benelli TNT accross the Sahara Desert. Cool video. Check out the article if you get a chance.

I was thinking about buying a dirt bike, but now I've decided to just use my Bandit.

What was that, a VFR?

I read about this guy in one of the mags.  The bike is a stock R1 with custom luggage.  I absolutely cannot imagine endless days in the saddle in the crotch rocket position.  The only mod he made was a harder compound tire for better durability.

Guys,

Let me give you some more stuff from Sjaak on his R1 (standard!).

http://www.motoport.nl/R1sjaak/Video.cfm

Sjaak getting his tattoo "upgraded", sjaak surprised about the police cars in  the US, Sjaak working on his engine, looking at female b.tts, etc. etc.

Yu can even see him on a racetrack in the US,...fully packed!!  (in the movielist: "verenigde staten" means "United States")

Does he not seem to have a lot of stuff? I mean seriously, its like a shed.

Really great videos though. I wish I was doing it.

Nick Sanders went around the world on an R1 too didn't he? A couple of times?

3 x BMW GS1150
2 x Support Vechiles

or

1 x R1 with Shed on the back.

That's an achievment.
