KRAUSER TOP RACK and K5 Luggage issue

Yup! I suppose you could improve on the Krauser rack by adding a support piece that runs forward and picks up the forward bungee spool mount. Not only would this help prevent future repeat failures of the grab handle mount area, but should allow you to carry a heavier load in the top box like the Givi and Ventura setups allow.

Well, As Everyone might imagine would happen,.. NOTHING!. NO support. NO compensation gesture, even partial compensatory for repair would of been good, NO, NO, NO, not even an apology or even aknowledgement that their might be a design flaw, prompting a re-look at the design to correct. NADA, ZIP, ZILCH, ZERO!.

I know, no-one is truly surprised at this outcome, even me.

Looks like I either scrap my $500 expenditure or save some of my investment by getting the damage fixed, additional $200 and re-inforcing or making the design actually functional by adding support braces to the lower mount points , and who knows what that will cost?... gotta be less than buying a complete new system from a competitor anyway!.

To everyone out there who is considering hard luggage for their 2nd gen Bandit...BUYER BEWARE!. :danger:  :rant2: I need a :bigdrink:

I'm not sure if you'd be willing but can you post some pics of how your guy did the weld to reinforce the frame? I'm thinking about a renntec rack which also mounts on the four rear bolts, so I might Get ye old welder out if I end up buying the rack.

I'd appreciate it, if not I can just figure it out and slap some steel on there.

That's crap. Spread the word on other motorcycle forums--Maximum Suzuki and Sport-touring.net come to mind.
