Well after having enough warm weather to melt the snow, go for a ride, and tease us a little bit, winter has came back.
Lake effect snow forcasted for the next week, when is it going to end? Guess I'll just keep my nose to the grind stone and work some more. It shouldn't be too much longer now. Dan

same for upstate new york. I road today (couldn't stand not riding it), and flurries were flying. Needless to say, I got a few wierd looks from some people walking down the street.

yep we have a few inches again here getting more tonight like 6 inchs. i need to get down and pick my bike up from the shop still. dropped it off when it was nice didnt get finished till the snow hit. like ya said i am working all the overtime i can the next few weeks. put some aside for the rally. and to put back for the stuff i just bought for the bike and myself. heck though it was all done here also, so bought tires chain sprockets and a full perf leather jacket. might be paid off before i can use any of it LOL!! wait thats not funny??!

We got 5-6 inches of light fluffy snow thurs/friday, temps in the 20's at night, low 30's during the day, about 100 miles north of Pittsburgh. The 70 degree weather Mon/Tues. was more to my liking .

Remember, if it wasn't for global warming, most of North America would be under the ice cap. I wonder what we did to cause it to melt, seeing how there were no people back then

Personally, I think the truth sits somewhere in the middle, since they even say in this documentary that "the other guys" sensationalised their story to make it "newsworthy". It would stand to reason that theirs would be embellished as well.

Like they say, three sides to every story.

"Fanatics"? "Crawled back in their holes"? That was completely unnecessary.

Whether you believe global warming is a problem or not, I'm sure there are folks on this board on both sides of the issue. Derogatory comments like that are guaranteed to offend people.

Pretty sure many of us here are old enough to remember the 1970's (even if it is a little hazy in spots). Back then, environmental extremists were making noise about the next ice age coming. Now it's the other extreme.
I wonder what it'll be in another 30 years?

Will Florida be lost to the rising ocean and Stormi will be collecting coconuts in her back yard in Alberta (or Missouri)?

Given that natural factors (oceans, volcanos, animal flatulance, etc.) emit more CO2 than all man-made factors combined by a very large margin (IIRC, the figure was like 100x greater), I have a hard time believing the latest hoopla that the current trend is caused by man.

Another documentry from 2005, Canadian CNW Telbec's Climate Catastrophe Cancelled, comes to the same conclusions. Among the experts in this one are two scientists who were reviewers of the UN's IPCC. It's interesting the trouble one of them had when he wanted his name disassociated with the IPCC when it came out and he didn't want his name attached to it anymore.

100 miles N.of Pittsburg?The Butler I know is more like 30 miles north.Erie is 130 miles N.of Pitt.
Hey,sometime this summer I plan on a central/north central Pa. ride. Your welcome to come along.Been gazing over my Pa. topo looking for the sqiggliest lines.

Hey Jimmy, alot of my weekend rides end up swinging past the Oil City/Franklin area. Thats about 1/2 way,if ya wanna go for a ride, maybe meet on 62 somewhere(after it warms abit) I know its probably abit ruff and dirty, but I'm looking foward to testing out 666 this year from Tittiute to Sheffield. Hey Smoothy!

I was born and raised about an hour or two southeast of Erie... if you ever get a chance, you HAVE to check out State Route #219 north-south from Bradford down to DuBois on I-80. That is one sweet stretch of twisties.

I'm from Wilcox, near Johnsonburg (Elk County) and I've made that run hundreds of times when I used to live in Youngstown OH. and came up to visit my Dad every weekend on the family farm.

All those roads around that area are excellent. Especially the ones in the Allegheny State Park. Take #19 south to Waterford, #97 east to Union City, then #6 east through Warren. In Rogertown take #59 east and make sure you stop and check out the Kinzua Dam. then a little further you hit #219.

Or if you followed #6 east from Rogertown to Kane and took #66 south through the park, then figured your own loop back home. #66 down to Shippenville is another beautiful set of curves.

Zen-man, I,ve got the chance to explore quite a bit of Pa. roads. Hunted in McKean co. since I was a kid. Around 321 and 59, up in the woods aways. And did quite abit of traveling during my wrestling coach yrs,had a tourneyment every weekend while my son grew up as a young wrestler.I remember Johnsonnsburg on the way to St. Collage,seems like a nice little town once or if you get used to the smell of the paper mill. We have some good roads in Pa.not like the smokey mnts., but some good ones once they are cleaned up. Dan
