Well congrats on the soon-to-be first little wipper snapper.  Having a two year old running around (she's our first) the house I can tell you from my limited experience that it's easy until they get mobile, then it gets really fun.  And speaking as a nurse don't forget to help your wife as much as possible and if you can be there for the birth.  You'll never forget it and you'll always regret it if you don't.

One other thing...after the birth some big mouth is probably going to step up and say "How's your wife and MY kid" expecting it to be real funny and get some laughs at your expense. Well, the best reply to that is "Hey, MY wife is doing fine, but YOUR kid's a retard"
Usually puts the other guy in his place and gets you the laughs!
If tomorrow really is the first day of the rest of my life..........does that mean all the shit I do today don't count?

I help quite a bit now and I don't see that changing and I wouldn't miss the birth for anything.

With my wife being off for the next year, that will give us alot of time to get our feet wet and have some fun with our new addition. Actually I think we are going to Calgary to visit her sister next year for Christmas, can't wait.

You guys sound like great parents already.  I'm glad you'll both be able to enjoy as much time with the little one as possible.

You'll love every minute.

Good luck!!

Matt
