I still dont get it.How do the insurance company or the gards know if its been restricted or not?
My insurance company has no problem with insuring me on even derestricted bandit400 even on my provicional licence with cat A nad A1. Dilema?!

Not being a resident of GB/Ireland, I'm not certain how that all works. I have assumed the restrictor must come with some paperwork you show to someone to prove it's in there, unless the MOT crew pops the caps on the carbs and takes a peek and once they're satisified, your bike is marked on the rego as a restricted?

Hopefully, one of your countrymen will come up with some facts!
