What a deal on a crash bar!

Is a crash bar with a big hole in the tubing really the one you want to buy? :roll:

Well I guess it's better than nothing. I may have to get the stock suzuki engine guards as a temporary measure untill I can confirm that other guards will work. Givi says theirs only works on 00-01 bandits and Holeshot says that Canadian models with the extram motor mounts need modifications to mount it. I guess I could just buy the standard Suzuki bars and get my friend to weld it better in his shop.
2005 Bandit 1200, Modified Holeshot Stage 1 with 17.5 pilots 2.75 turns out, and 110 mains 5 shims. Muzzy Slip on w/mid-pipe, stock filter. 1.5" hole in the airbox lid.

Now you see why i made these up! The diff between gaurds for older us B12 and the B6, euro B12, with the bottom eng mount, is with the mount you don't use a spacing washer. Hey cost was zip for me! and these only take a few minutes to mount!!  :?:

Well I'll check it out but I think it's still in the same boat. Canadian models get the "better" engine mounts which supposedly reduce vibration as well as being stronger which I'm all for, but some after market guards seem to hate it so I'll have to do a little research. IF the OEM Suzuki bars are cheap I'll just use them temporarily, who know maybe they're better than the "older" ones.


As far as the extra strong motor mounts in the bandit FAQ's that guy(can't remember his nmae) actually suggests buying them seperatly especially if you up the power on your Bandit.

Only the 2000 & older (1G) Canadian B12's have the extra mounts. The 2G bikes are like their US siblings and do not have them.

Givi needs to figure out which generation their bars fit.  :roll:
(They seem to think a '00 model is a 2G, but that's only the B6)
Givi's engine bars attach it the same places as Renntec and Renntec lists different p/n's for 1G & 2G bikes. If anyone wants to use either of these brands on a model w/o lower motor mounts, you'll need to add washers or some other kind of spacer to make up for the lack of the mounts.

Is there no place to mount the "slider" type guards that the crotch rocket use? My brother and his buddies all have them on their R1 and GSXR type bikes. The sliders bolt to the frame on those bikes...didn't see a practical mounting spot on the Bandit.
