Motorcyclist Crashes After 100-MPH Chase, Police Say

SOUTHGATE, Ky. -- A motorcyclist crashed after taking off from police and going up to 100 mph on the interstate overnight, News 5 reported.
AirCare flew the rider to University Hospital. He has serious head injuries.
Police said the chase started after a routine traffic stop.
Officers thought they lost him until they were called to the scene of an accident on the ramp from Interstate 471 to Highway 27.
The motorcycle got off the ramp at a high speed and slammed into an embankment, police said.
It left a skid mark longer than 200 feet.
The motorcyclist has not been identified.
Criminal charges are likely, police said.
