For all you 400 fans who wish you could buy a new B4...

and where it came from
and if the fuel injection and computer will fit on my engine

I'd love to ride one for a couple of days and compare the performance to the 425's and 450's of the late '70's and early '80's.  I had an '82 GS450 for a year and it would be cool to see what 23 years of technological advancement has done.

By the same token, it would be cool to compare the 1200 Bandit to an early '80's GS1150ES classic.

That 400 is one pretty bike.

I think if you got a ride on a B4, you'd have a pretty good idea, though I'd hope the GSR4 is at least a little better at everything.

The GS1150 & the B12 actually compare pretty close in drag racing numbers. (Remember, the B12 motor is a detuned version of the late 80's GSXR1100 with an extra 30cc's... nothing real earth shattering in the technology dept.)  The B12 will stop and turn a little better though.

Is that GSR400 a triple or am I just not seeing a 4th pipe??? I did a quick web search but couldn't find any other info...

Looks more like a honda 599 then a b4...

Nice, nice, NICE!   :grin:   I really like the new GSR series.  I do wonder where the motor comes from or where it's going.  It seems strange that they would develop an all new 400cc motor for the home market only.

Perhaps it's based on the 600? Since the GSR isn't a no holds barred hyperbike, the weight penalty of sizing down a 600 class motor to meet the road requirements of a 400 class would be acceptable... much like the JDM's SV400 being based off the SV650.

Just a thought... OTOH, maybe Suzuki has plans for another GSXR400 that'll use a hotter version of thie GSR4's lump.
