Booty to win back wife: 3 vehicles, 3 rings

New Delhi, August 28: A man was arrested yesterday for stealing three vehicles and cheating a jeweller in only two days to impress his wife.

Devender (26) was arrested from Ashok Nagar after he was found to be driving a stolen motorcycle. During interrogation, he confessed to have stolen three vehicles. He committed the crimes to keep his wife happy, who had left him some time back, as he was unemployed, police said.

 
 
‘‘In order to win her back, he stole a motorcycle on August 25 and went to a jeweller shop in Ashok Nagar. He took three gold rings from the jeweller, (who kept the stolen motorcycle as  security),  and promised to return with the rings,’’ said police. On August 26, he stole another  motorcycle from Shahdara, but was caught.
He confessed to have also stolen a scooter.
