I could go into a long drawn out dissertation about the how, what, when and where but I know how much we all love pics, so let me cut to the chase.

In October of 2005 I crashed my bike and severly broke my collar bone. Here are a few pictures of my shoulder before, during (sort of) and after.

Wow cool pics, although you have my sympathy for the bad experience. So how did it happen and do you have pictures of the bike crashed up?

Ooch!! - I've had clavical separations in both shoulders, one racing motocross on a Bultaco Pursang 250 and the other playing Rugby. Had to have one operated on and screwed down, but a lot less metal than in your collarbone.

Hope you all better and ready to get back in the saddle.

The pics of the bike were/are a lot less dramatic - had I taken any. Though you wouldn't know it from the estimate from the insurance company. It was a total. So I bought the salvage for something like $1250. Aside from some very bent handlebars the bike was infinitely ridable immediately after the wreck.

Ok, I will try to make this quick:

I was tooling down the 101 connecting to the 405 here in beautiful Los Angeles when a car causually changes lanes in front of me leaving his ass end a quarter of the way in my lane. I was anticipating on him "completing" the lane change and therefore was caught a little off guard by the lack of room I had. In short, the guy cut me off, I paniced, locked up the front wheel and down I went. At best I was doing, maybe, 30 mph, but that's all it took. The car was stopped practically straddling two lanes as I slide underneath his gast tank but never touched his car. The driver was totally unaware of what was going on. Luckily for me my friend was behind me on his bike and was able to park his bike and literally run down the freeway and stop the guy. (This was stop and go morning rush hour so he wasn't going to get very far.) The guy was nice enough. He was apologetic and even took me to the hospital.

Thanks for all your well wishing. As far as my riding days? Well, not so much numbered as limited. I am again on hiatus because of the surgery but have no real plans on giving it up totally.
