Motorcyclist jailed after chase, crash

Eagle Staff Report

A College Station motorcyclist was jailed Saturday after a Department of Public Safety trooper reported that he refused to pull over while reaching speeds of 160 mph.

Beaux Austin Baxter, 21, was riding on Harvey Mitchell Parkway South near George Bush Drive at about 1 a.m. when the trooper tried to stop him. Baxter then was traveling 91 mph in a 60 mph zone, according to the affidavit. Around Raymond Stotzer Parkway, Baxter was traveling between 150 mph and 160 mph, the court documents state.

At a construction zone near Villa Maria and Finfeather roads, Baxter lost control of the motorcycle and flipped it, according to the documents. He escaped serious injury.

Baxter was charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle and reckless driving. He was released Saturday from the Brazos County Jail on $7,000 bail.
