New Bike Finally Arrives
« on: May 18, 2006, 12:22:30 PM »
Just dropped by the stealer to see my new G3 B12 w/ABS.  It looks gorgeous in dark blue.  The VIN number ends 00001.  Does anyone know if that means it was the first produced with ABS?  Can hardly wait until tomorrow when I pick it up!

Mint in box!  You must never ride that bike, it has a low serial number so you'll want to store it for five years and sell it on ebay at that time!

Congrats on the new ride!

If the cars typically look like this

I don't think anyone would buy one.

Smart cars are all the rage around here. Rich urban people love these crappy little cars. I got a ride in one once and I can't believe how LOUD  they are. Sounds like your driving an old lawn mower that isn't running right.

Way to go, Fossil. You've got #1 and I've got #17 !!! Is this a great country, er whut ??

Yep, our poor American cousins have been told by the EPA-Nazis:

NO 2006 (and later) B12'S FOR YOU !!!!

Now the B12's also get the axe in Europe (and Canada) too with the end of '06 production. Technically speaking, Suzuki COULD produce an '07 B12 but they would have to stop importing it into Europe (and Canada) as of Dec. 31, 2006 and so would only get to produce them for about 3 months or so. I don't think the bean-counters at Suzuki would go along with that idea at all......
So gents, we're seeing the end of an era with the final demise of the big block Gixxer air cooled motor after 20+ years.....
When you tell your grandkids that you're so old that you rode a dinosaur to work, you won't be lying......
Ignorance is curable. Stupidity is terminal.

I see an ST1300 in my future if I decide to buy a NEW bike.  Or I've thought of sticking with a B12S by buying a low mileage used '05 in say, hmmm, maybe '08, which would let me save a ton of money on accessories by moving all my stainless steel lines, seats, handle bars, luggage rack, topcase, chrome gizmos, windshield, etc., to the newer bike.
