Hey, That is a 650. If you check out suzuki- uk website they have the 06 1200GT, it`s a good looking bike. I just hope that the luggage is the same from the 650 to the 1250? Three weeks my dealer will have his first black non abs 1250. I will be standing there with my check book!!!!!!!

Hey Dan!  I usually stop in the Harrisburg area, but I've been meaning to explore a little more of my home state next time I'm up.

I'll give you a holler next time I'm up that way.

For sure,Let me no when you come to Pa. so we can do some riding. I'm quite a ways from Harisburg, up  on Lake Erie, but we could meet somewhere south and put some miles on. We're supposed to get snow later this week, but I doubt it will stick yet.   Dan

My brother has that windshield extension on his ZRX1200. I didn't think it made that much of a difference though.  Dan

Oh this one may make a few of you wet yourselves. It was taken at a Euopean Suzuki show.

Looks like the new Bandit with new style Givi Bags.

By the way, that is an MRA windscreen. You can buy them on E bay or at Twisted Throttle.

Hey guys, are you serious?
You can put those Givi bags on ANY Bandit... did it myself. Their mounting hardware is excellent.
I put a large army duffel bag with extra camping gear between 'em, a tank bag and drove 2200 miles this summer. The bike was a bit top heavy but this was a problem only on uneven ground at the speed of a slow walk. Passing speed was affected, but not much.

But.

I have always had a problem with cramped legs on a Bandit -particularly in Technik Bike Armour. Since I put Suzi engine guards on long ago, (they work), I was able to buy cheap forward clamp on footpegs.

HUGE difference. Now I would call it a great sports tourer at a fraction of the weight and price of a Honda STI 1300, Yammer FJR1300, Beemer K1200s etc. Note that you CANNOT put forward pegs on ANY of these, to my knowledge. I was able to roughly double my daily distance.

I sure got a hell of a lot of raised eyebrows and slack jaws from the cruiser guys. It's a long story.

I think I should post this to its own thread. Thoughts, anybody.

Whoops, I forgot.

If any of you are thinking about going this route, be sure to get the top bag backrest pad for your hot babe... a cheap Givi accessory.
Also the auxilliary tailights that replace the originals which will be hidden by the side bags from side view, (on a 98- probably all). The Givi ones ARE side visible and are of good quality too          -astonishing for aftermarket, hey what?

Well, Mike, someone may want to buy a Suzuki done version for one or more of these reasons:
    One-stop shopping
    Lower price (maybe?)
    Extras covered by the warranty
    Getting the lower fairing

OTOH - It's not uncommon for manyfacturers to show bikes equipped with aftermarket accessories that the manufacturer does NOT sell, just to show folks the possibilites. Just because there was a ST'd out Bandit at the show does not always mean it is offered that way from the manufacturer.

If only Suzuki offered a ST'd out Bandit like the one in Bazza's link with a shaft drive, it might have me more interested.

As I posted on another site, the more I look at the "Big C" due out next year, the more I think about trading in the Bandit for touring.  But until then, I will continue the morphing process on the Bandit and dream of a day that I don't have to worry about cleaning / lubing / changing the chain, overly bent legs, etc.

Does anyone have a picture of the MRA Vario Touring wind screen installed on their (or any) 1st Gen b12?

I think I'm going to pick one up from twistedthrottle, but I'd sure like to see one installed first...

thanks!

Its funny how an oil cooled B12 with Givi bags sets everyone off. Personally I never liked the look of Givi bags which remind me of large back dutch ovens which detract from the bikes looks and theme. But if you want that look for a decent price JC Penny sells Givi clones for a fraction of the price.

I'm with ya on those Givi topcases. Each to their own, but to me their just big and bulky looking, makes the bike look top-heavy.

That black Bandit does look really sharp though, and I like the hard saddle bags. Windshield too.

Thanks for the JC Whitney link, it's always fun to browse their catalogue, and ya never know what bargains you'll find...

Besides the Whitney cases, there's a whole bunch of hard cases on sale on ebay. Some of them are high-gloss black and would look pretty good on any bike. Just do a search for motorcycle hard cases.

The only problem I see with the Whitney and other cases is that there's no clear-cut information on the mounting hardware. As far as I can tell, you still need to go buy Givi mounting hardware to put them on. Anybody have any info on this? I'm hoping to throw some on an SV650 when I finally get one, but the whole mounting hardware setup thing is nebulous to me.
