Philip Island Superbike Race
« on: February 26, 2012, 08:09:44 PM »
Anyone else catch the opening round of the Superbike Races on Speedvision (or elsewhere) today?

A couple of great races. The "old boys" Max Biaggi and  Carlos Checa certainly put on a show. It was unfortunate that we never really saw them race head to head, except for a few corners...

Biaggi's Aprillia was certainly fast down the front straight...324 km/hour I believe!!

It was just like me and you screaming though Montana! :trustme:

OK, maybe we woulda been a couple seconds slower per lap. It was nice to see a BMW on the podium in the first race, and a Kawi in race 2. Need to break up the Aprilia/Ducati domination this year.

Well...I was thinking it was a little more like a certain road in Idaho (Banks-Lowman perhaps?) and IIRC there was a BMW in the mix, with some bright red and blue colours, to put the Kawasaki in it's place...the shiny red Triumph sailed on through to the finish without incident, as I recall.

I WAS really stoked to see Melandri put the BMW on the podium, and Sykes with the Kawi as well, even though I was really hoping Rea could find just enough traction to keep the Honda in 3rd.

Overall, pretty good race. How you keeping buddy?

You sailed through because I was the rabbit on that run.  :trustme: Also, I missed all the "cop ahead" signals from the gaggle of Harleys.  :banghead:

Doing OK. Rode today, so that makes work bearable. Let definitely plan on the usual summer run.

It was even better being there! I don't know how Checa walked away from that off.
If you can't ride today, try and have a good day anyway!
