Hello Bandit Riders.

I just lowsided my bike in a sandy patch in from of my house. I rode 150 miles Saturday and fall bigtime going in my own drive. This is the worst putdown since I was 15 years old! Anyway I need new Handlebars (and bodywork, tach, etc).

I was wondering if anyone knew the "correct" Ranthal replacement handlebars? I could go for a half inch taller & closer, but stock would be fine.

...and if you have a right side fairing in Gen 1 red, front fender & tach housing all the better.

Durn, John, sorry to hear that, but at least I hope it was close enough you could slink into the house quickly after you quickly rolled the bike into the garage!

Check EBAY if no body parts surface.

Can't help much with the Renthals.........

am little screwed up from it. My helmet's trashed, hand & ankle swollen & stiff, as are my scraped knees. The gloves, boots & mesh jacket worked. There's sand all over the streets, the road looked clear in front of my house but the sand was hidden in the shadows of my neighbor's trees. I flcked it pretty hard and went straight down. Never saw the sand.

I drove home from work today, first time I've been on the road and couldn't see from the car either- even knowing where it was. Perfect optical illusion/camo.

Gee John, when you have beach front property in Oklahoma, you've got to expect some sand on the road.

The Bandit is a bit easier to patch up than we are.....
That right front fairing side is around $240 new. Ask me how I know?

I can't remember if you have case guards. Any engine case damage?

I was quoted about $200 for the fairing piece plus $20 for the decal. It isn't broken, only scuffed to the plastic and top layer shredded on the edge. I was told that getting the paint would be as much as replacement piece. but I have another body guy looking at it tomorrow. Would like to get the fender and bellypan touched up too.

the engine cover is scraped too. I thought I would remove it, file it down, mask the good and repaint the bad.

Might be worth springing for NRC covers....$150 or so for a set....
At least the cover didn't crack!

Sorry to hear about your fall. It really doesn't matter how many miles you put on anything like this (unseen hazards) can put you down.
Glad to see you are mending... Hope you, the Bandit and your wallet heal soon.
Oh and as I think about my own comment I think it is time to find so case gaurds.

What are the aftermarket handlebars that are equal or slightly taller than stock?

i was told that "Daytona" & "Clubman" were the choices.......I've seen some threads before.

Clubmans are kind of an antique/low budget alternative to Clamp ons.
You don't want them.

I think what you want is usually referred as a Superbike bend.

I'm not sure what is a direct replacement for the OEM bars.
Mine went to a rider that had a crash, also.
MAybe somebody has some stock bars they took off?

This guy in GA has reasonably priced Rentec bars.

I believe the name Renthal gives what most call a Superbike bend the "Streetfighter" name.
