Fixed Windscreen Rattle
« on: October 21, 2005, 05:57:37 PM »
I fixed a rattle / buzz in my zero gravity sport touring screen that I have on my bandit.  Those of you that have this screen probably know it doesn't fit just perfect and mine had some play up near the top of the fairing.  I simple cut two slivers of rubber off a thick rubber mat and carefully wedged it between the back of the windscreen and the fairing.  I used a tiny flat head screwdrive to stuff the rubber down in there.  It solved the problem.

I had a terrible rattle from my zero gravity as well. Rubber pieces fixed it right up. Actually, my mechanic did it while it was in for service.... I'm so lazy...lol

Have you tried the double bubble? I have the touring one and it's kinda big.

Take care,

Yep, they rattle, but I put a bead of silcon sealer on the shield flanges and reinstalled it and that solved it.

Yeah, the silicone sealer looks like it would be a good fix too.

No Dale, I have not tried the Double Bubble screen.  I'm not sure if it's taller than stock?  Anyway, I wanted the extra wind protection and I'm happy with the Sport Touring screen.  I'm sure it knocks off some top speed, but it's worth the trade for me.  Looks like you will still be able to buy new Bandits there in Italy.  Seems like here in the U.S., everyone either wants a cruiser or a 'cripple me' sport bike, not as much in between. Scooters are becoming more popular over here though.  I'm seeing more and more scooters on the road.
