Rode the Dragon Today
« on: March 20, 2005, 05:22:11 PM »
Spring has sprung, at least for the moment.  I rode over the Tail of the Dragon and back today.  It was pretty nice out, the riding was good, and not too much traffic.

Here 's a pics of some of the bikes taken from the store parking lot:

Here's a 2002 B12 that was converted to nekkid:

Sorry, no action shots.  It's too hard to ride and point the camera at the same time.

Sweet!     Spring is slowly ariving (FINALLY!).  Quite a collection of bikes, there.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know that was a conversion rather than just a naked B12?

Rob,

I stood there and talked with the owner of the B12 for about 1/2 hour.  We were the only two Bandit owners there, so we had something to chit chat about.  He did the whole conversion himself, said it was a bit expensive.   Interestingly, he said the wind blast isn't bad and the wind noise is actually quieter after the conversion.  He also liked the headlight better than the faired headlights.  (I think it was an SV bucket with standard low beam and a higher wattage high beam).

He had also done a Busa shock, lowering bones, Race Tech Valves and springs, Muzzy exhaust, Ivan's Stage One.  Claimed it dyno'ed at 120 hp.

There were a buttload of bikes there, but I've seen it more crowded.

Before I read the response, the way I could tell was the location of the horn.

The "S" model puts the horn next to the oil cooler, on the left side. (It's visible in the pic if you look hard enough.)
Factory 2G Nakeds have a pair of horns on the lower triple.
