What kind of car and how new is it??
How bad is the damage?   Is the paint scratched or creased?

These are all factors in the repair options.

I was in your wifes shoes a few months ago.  I was doing the first oil change (1000 miles) on my new HEMI Ram.  She came home and lowered the garage door down onto the open hood of the truck, scratching and gaugine the sh!t out of it with the metal door handle.  I was pissed, but what can you really do other than be pissed for a wile.

The main damage is where the ball on the end of the accelerator has punched a hole in the side of the drivers wing and a few dents here and there.

The car is only a few years old its a Kia Shuma 11, you can just about see it in my icon behind my bike.

Yes its the side panel on the drivers side over the wheel arch.

The hole has not gone all the way through but its very close to it.

When we had them, the little vent windows in the drivers doors used to be called 'wing vents' in the US.   Sure miss them......

     :duh:

I tipped my Bandit over against my car once.   The $120 Rifle windshield I had on then broke.......
Not a scratch on the Ford I had then.....

All the KIA dealers near me have Buy One Get One Free on everything on the lot!   With all the rebates and stuff you can get a brand new KIA RIO for $6,999 and get a second one for $1.  That TWO new KIA's $7,000 US

As far as the damage goes, it sounds like you'll need some bondo and a paint job.  If you don't get it repaired, you should at least touch it up... paint over any bare metal to prevent rust.  Once it starts, it's a pain to get rid of.

Yup, the Brit's wing is the Yank's fender... and the Brit's mudguard is the Yank's fender.

A few Brit/Yank car part differences

bonnet/hood
boot/trunk

Holy shiite, Manny.  Only 1000 miles too!  I did that to the wife's tailgate on her SUV.  I fixed it pretty well with rubbing compound and touch up paint.   I figured if I spent $500 on it at the body shop, something else was going to happen to it anyway.

That's the way it always seems to happen.  When things are brand new, something happens to mess it up.  That's one reason to buy a used car or bike.
