What is a fair offer for a 2000 Bandit 1200 with less than 100 miles and new Suzuki warrenty? The bike has been out of the crate less than a year.

Nadaguides.com shows 200 Bandit 1200 S high retail used for $3,675. Unfortunately once you buy it that is what it is worth! If you can pick it up for under $4k out the door I would say it is worth it.

When you consider the cost, don't forget that you'll need to purchase new tires for the bike as the old ones are about 5 years old now. There are also break lines, fuel lines and clutch line to replace since the rubber hoses are aging even if the bike is in a crate. I'd look at it as an upgrade opportunity - get some nice tires and steel braided brake/clutch lines, but it's something you may want to use as a bargaining point with the seller.

Thanks for the replies, they are in line with what I had in mind. I was thinking around $4000, which is ~10% over nada used price, the dealer has it listed for over $5000. It's worth a try, at least I know that for an old bike it hasn't been hurt much.

I was thinking of riding it, as is, for a season as an "extended test ride", & taking care of the aging stuff if I kept it. I'll probably keep looking for a similar used bike that has already been upgraded for less money.

I don't know if this will help or not, but a local dealer here in Dayton, OH has a 2003 B12 that's only been out of the crate for about three months and it has zero miles on it. It's listed there for $5700.00.

I paid $5995 ($1000 off) for my new 2002 B12 in 2003 - zero miles, sitting on the showroom floor all that time. I'd guess you can find similar deals on '04 or '05 models now, which makes $5K for a 2000 seem high. But if you can get it for under $4K....

I didn't know how to place a value on a new bike that is this old. It is the first NOS Bandit I've run across. I've been riding a Suzuki GS850 and was looking for something newer and bigger, like a GS1100 and not having any luck within a couple of hundred miles or so. The Bandit is an updated GS, and this dealer has a real good shop that can take care of any problems. I'll see what I can work out, and am prepared to keep looking, it's not like I'm on foot.
