I'm going to buy a Garmin 2610 shortly and I'm trying to decide how best to mount it on my '03 Naked B12.

Interested in seeing some photos of what you guys are running.

Anyone got a Ram mount? Anything else?

I highly recommend the RAM mounts because they are extremely versatile. You can get a device-specific mount or something generic like this: http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/search.lasso?SearchTerm=GRA2X6.

Here's my setup I had with my Garmin V on the handlebar mount

And here's my current setup Lowrance i350c on a ram mount
only problem I've had with this one is its a hard drive and the vibration causes problems. I have to figure out a way to isolate the vibration.

Did you add the power outlet or is that something stock? It looks real clean and professional.

I added it myself on the left at the top corner you can also see a hole where I added a second outlet.

It wasn't hard at all the weather proof guard can be bought at Radio Shack for like $8 the power is off the unused wire (brown) in the harness in the front of the bike

ATC'er and MrBam...which mount (or clamp) did you use to secure the unit between the risers? I can use the Garmin motorcycle cradle, but the cradle itself still needs a way to attach to the bars. "Base Plate II" from GadgetGuy.net is one option, but it's a little pricey and somewhat permanent.

MrBam...having ridden with one setup between the risers and the other on the Ram arm...do you have a preference?

ATC'er...is that short for Air Traffic Controller? If so, I'm one of the guys you control :)

Thanks for the pics. I'm thinking I'm going to go with a Ram with the shortest arm and try to position it so the unit itself will be as close to center (between the risers) as possible.

The eTrex is mounted to the handlebar with a Garmin Handlebar Mounting Bracket. Amazon.com sells them for $9.98. I'm sure a lot of other websites sell it too.

I fly the 75/76 for big Brown...mostly international though. I haven't been to BDL for quite a while but used to fly there pretty frequently in a former turboprop/RJ life :)

While the bar mount was a more sturdy setup it also was the most difficult of the two to see while riding the bike.

The Ram mount on the other hand is the more versitle. You can position it to your liking and place it as I have in the best viewing position without having to take your eyes off the road as long.

I'm amazed your hard drive-based unit is still running. Bikes are known killers of those things. Hard drives don't like being bumped around while accessing data. They can easily fail doing so. You may want to consider a flash memory-based GPS (or if available, a flash memory replacement drive for your existing unit).

I have the Garmin Quest 2 and used the original suction cup mount to fasten between the gages with a couple of screws.

Since these pics were taken I have moved the unit down to the handlebar due to excess vibration on the cowl. Garmin replaced the first unit on warranty and I doubt they would do it again. I really liked the original location better since it put the unit within easy visual range. The only other drawback is the smallish display to be that far away.
