Went to the bike show yesterday and talked to our area Suzuki rep. It seems that Suzuki Canada can not deal directly with Suzuki Japan, and must purchase through Suzuki USA. So that means that accessories for the 06 and 07 Bandits are dependant on what the US imports from Japan. At this point in time there is nothing being brought in that they know of. The 06 was not imported to the US so it is hardly likely that anything will be imported for it.

I had hoped that with the redesign there might be a push on accessories to support the “new bike”. I was actually looking for something like a Suzuki tank bra. I know there are after market things out there, but I thought it might be nice to get the real deal.

You could probably order a tank bra from the UK. I expect it'll be close to a year before the aftermarket has accessories for the 07 simply because it is a low volume bike.

Yep, guys, since the '06 wasn't sold in the USA, accessories from Suzuki Canada are ZERO. In the '07 brochure there is NOTHING listed specifically for the Bandit at all......except for a kinda unusual colour-scheme cap.
Dreadnought is probably right about the UK thing. the big trick is to get the correct part numbers since you would be dealing overseas. Some of the UK dealers like Crooks Suzuki may/may have info on Bandit accessories on their website but I haven't checked it out myself. Once Suzuki USA gets up to speed we may see more stuff available in the Great White North but, as mentioned by Dreadnought, probably not until next year. Grrrrr.....dopey marketing arrangements.....
On a brighter note, though.....hopefully Zero Gravity and Lockhart will now be offering higher touring-type screens since the '06 and '07 screens are the same. Maybe I'll finally find a screen at a reasonable price AND with reasonable protection.

MRA is making a touring windscreen for the '06-'07 Bandit, clear or smoke gray. 2-3 inches taller than the stock screen. No pic yet, but you can buy one for $94.99 here: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/1781/361/

Looks like the 1839-3-T Touringscreen is the tallest, and it's also one piece.... I think I like that one. I'm not partial to the attached lip, I like the cleaner look. Plus if it's too tall, it can be cut down.

Welcome to my world! Suzuki Canada offers nothing for the '05 Bandit 650, wasn't sold in the states, so no luck there and Suzuki Canada will not bring accessories over from the UK.

I was real disappointed with the Laminar lip which for me just pushed the air stream from my chest to my mouth and nose and send it back the next day, also looked like hell. I got a zero gravity and it pushed the air stream to the top of my head where my helmet too care of the rest, a very good windscreen.

I think I'm going to hang on and wait for Zero Gravity to come out with a replacement shield. I had one on my Ninja and loved it.
I think a colour match blue would be the shield of choice.

The other thing I came across at the show was a store that stocks camera mounts. the most expensive one was $89 and there was a handle bar mount going for something like $50. The store is in Calgary if anyone wants an address send me a pm.

Looks like I'm making movies this summer.

Strangely enough, when I contacted MRA last summer, they were only offering gray-tint screens which, to my mind, would look kinda weird on a wine-coloured bike.....so I declined. I'm glad to see they're offering them in clear again. I think I'll wait to see what LP and Zero Gravity have to offer before I make up my mind.

I opted for clear because I am sensitive to light and wear very dark sunglasses under my clear helmet shield, and lose visibility with a windscreen that is also tinted (too dark). As a result conversely at night when I remove my sunglasses I like having all the visibility I can get, regardless if I am able to "see over the screen".

I read a study years ago on transmissibility (sp?) of light through various substances. Basically what came out at the end of the study was that you lose a MINIMUM of 10% of the available light every time that light has to pass through ANY medium. So....with your visor down AND any kind of glasses on you're losing AT LEAST 20% of the light that would normally be available to your eyes. Worst of all, as you age, your eyes need MORE light to properly see the complete "picture" in any given viewing situation.....Not a good thing if you're of a "certain age" and you're riding over your head a little in a marginal light environment......something I try to avoid.
