Tail light / turn signal integrator
« on: August 25, 2005, 12:01:04 PM »
I am getting ready to order a set of Givi luggage for my 1200S, however
the rear turn signals need to be moved from the stock location to the Givi side rack and it looks butt ugly without the bags mounted IMO. I came accross a tail light / turn signal integrator from Lockhart-Phillips with would clean that area up. Anyone using it?

Possibly more important than having one, acouple of the guys I ride with have or had integrators.  So, I've seen them in action.  The one guy (Cdyer77 from this board) had the integrator on his Super Hawk.  His just used the stock bulbs, I believe.  That thing was a nightmare.  I couldn't tell if he was braking, turning or what (although it's better than his current LED tail lights!   :stickpoke: ).  The other guy has an LED replcement set-up on an R6.  His uses yellow lights for the indicators and red for brakes - all within the stock tail light.  It's MUCH easier to figure out.

Have you thought of flushmounts?

Do you think the flushmounts will work with Givi tubular side rack installed?

I picked up such product off of ebay for my 05, LED works as you would expect, if you don't put the resister in it blinks faster due to the LED's.  I think it was like 80 or so.

Not sure.  If you had a 1G, I'd suggest that you do what Pete did and put the indicators in the little recesses next to the tail light but I see that you've got an 01.  If you have what Manny has in this pic, it looks like you'd be hard pressed to get flushmounts to work.  The tail plastic is pretty well covered up by the bags.  Not sure what options you have.   :?:

I talked to http://www.clearalternatives.com about a month ago and they said that they should have an LED integrator ready for sale either this month or in September.  I think they already have one available for 1G Bandits.  I'm planing on getting one within the next couple of paychecks.  You might what to look at it.

Thanks for the info! Just checked their website and they now offer an integrated tailight for the 2G 1200 at about $95.00

BTW... it looks like you can keep your red lens and just get the LED integrator for $60...

I used a trailer converter to integrate my turn signals.  I had nothing but problems.  For me, on long trips it would get hot and start messing up.  I switched to an in between method. I used some mini stalk light and added them inside the tail light.  Also I have seen integrated LED lights for bandits on Ebay.

You can also pick other locations, I just figured that this location seemed the most practical.

It's brighter than that, I just didn't take the picture at the right moment.
