Was only reading aboutt he GSR600 in fast bike magazine and according to the lads in that , the bike isnt the ould may west (may west being cockney rhyming slang for best)

Shame it doesn't come with inverted forks. Aside from that I can't wait to give it a ride. If it survives a few years of production, it's probably the next bike I'll purchase...

Ehh, about the GSR600, i'd still love to have it in the future, FI is really the way to go.. Hey if we study hard enough, maybe we can remap the Control Unit? :wink:

I'm starting to salivate for one of these.  They're just under six thousand pounds (as in money!) in the UK but I'm not sure what the MSRP will be in North America.  Hopefully a good deal like the bandit is.  Should be here shortly, I take it...

According to the Suzuki UK site, the GSR600 has a RRP of £5,199
And the '06 B12S w/ABS has a RRP of £5,299

So... if it were to be offered up in North America, looks like it would be priced pretty close to the B12S ABS, which has a MSRP of CDN$11,199 for the '06 B12S ABS model... so maybe ~$9999.99?

That's too much!  Rather have a 1200 Bandit than that - I've seen brand new 1200's up here for just less than $10!

As for the GSR600's high price, keep in mind it's putting out B12 power numbers out of a 600.

If you guys have not ridden a new 600, try one out before getting too worked up.

I have ridden a few 600's over the past 5 years. While they do make nice power numbers, they are absolutely gutless below about 8000-9000 rpm. Great track weapons where you can really keep the rpm's up, for street use the total absence of torque would get old very fast.

MOTORCYCLIST magazine quote from their recent Yamaha 600cc bike test: "not much happens below 12,000 rpm". Very nice for a street bike.

Too old and not fast enough on the shift lever I guess :lol:

750cc bikes make much better street machines.

You guys that can't ride a mid-size really freak me out!

Are you in the right friggin'gear??  My 650 gets up to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds!  That's not minutes!!

I don't care what the press says, I like the damn thing!! As long as the price is reasonable, I would love one. Suzuki being a parts-bin company, I'm sure that upgrading and fine tuning will be as easy as the Bandit. Sounds like a great street bike. I think more often than not, the press is so used to the cutting edge race machines that they have a hard time enjoying a nice easy to live with street bike.

I was half thinking about getting one, but decided on the Bandit as the shop I got me bike in didnt have a GSR in at the time and I rather the bandit meself. Only €500-600 in the differance or something like that.
