Ok well I figured out what my carb woes I've been having stem from. It seems that the petcock fuel valve was leaking fuel into the vacuum line and causing number 4 to get fuel from the floats and the vacuum line at the same time. So I took it to the dealer and he replaced it ($350 with labour ouch!) but he said he tried to get Suzuki to pay for the repair but they said it wasn't under warrenty(wtf?). Is this true? I was thinking of keeping the receipt and raising hell with Suzuki. Is the fuel vavle supposed to break on a 1 year old bike under warranty. Is this a normal thing for this bike? I doubt everyone is changing their fuel valves on their petcocks every year. What gives?

I can't believe that isn't under warranty. Doesn't sound like your dealer worked Suzuki too hard on your behalf. BTW who did the service work?

Cycleworld east. I'll call Suzuki today and get some clarification.
The worst thing is I paid for a Holeshot jet kit install then this shit happened so I paid to have it reversed until I could fix the problem(needs to be stock for warranty). SO far it will probably be a 1000 dollar jet job in the end if I have to pay for something that should obviously come under warranty. They're closed right now I'll have to call tommorrow.

Well they just called back and I'm going to have to ride it for a couple of weeks with the vacuum tube blocked and on prime then turning it to on when I park, so as to not to flood the engine. The parts will come in 2 weeks. Oh well at least it's going to get fixed. I suggested that I call Suzuki to bitch at them to see if I could get it under warranty and the guy totally agreed. He said that if the customer himself calls and bitches it usually comes out the customers way as they don't give the customers as much of a hard time as the dealers. Considering its the petcock assembly they are replacing I don't think it will be too much trouble. I figure I'll play semi-dumb and complain that I have to ride it jihad style with crazy petcock settings. I'm sure to turn the tide. What a bummer.

You can buy the pingle high flow petcock, save money and elimiate the vaccum hose all together.

This may be a silly question, but why didn't you just do the jet job yourself? I followed the instructions and took my time.

My goodness, what it a petcock valve worth? Why not just buy a new one?

No Baz, I think there's a principal here. If mine fails in a year, you bet I'll be on it. And don't forget to email them, with bils. That way there's a paper trail. And I'll bet those petcocks are 1 to 200 bucks.
