Tiny URL
« on: February 17, 2007, 12:22:08 AM »
Here's a heads-up to a lot of folks online here to make threads a bit more "surf" friendly, and that's Tiny URL.

A lot of times I see people post all sorts of cool links to places (Jay ) , but you wind up scrolling across your screen because the links are insanely long.

The solution to this is simple. Just copy your web link as you normally do and go over to http://www.tinyurl.com. Follow the (simple enough) onscreen instructions and create a more manageable link to whatever it is you'd like to take everyone to. It makes weblife more manageable online.

Anyway, my little heads-up on making your web life more enjoyable. Tanks.

If I copie a long link and paste it in my search,my computer won't find it. If I can lucky enough that it does than I go find something to do for the next 20-30 min. while my slow dial up loads it.

You can always hide a long url by making it clickable text, Like this:

clickable text message

Pretty simple solution...

Thanks for that, Red01. I knew that....but forgot.....and now I've got it written down on a sticky on my monitor.
