I had an interesting experience this weekend.  i added to my previous top speed of 151.  I  got up to 155 and it was still going.  I think that it would've made it up to 160 if I had a little bit more straight road.  BTW, I have the naked version with a small fly screen.  So I pretty much catch the full grunt.  I also wonder if the fairing version is faster on top end is the same, higher, or lower.  I know that it helps on aerodynamics, but it also adds weight  What is your top speed achieved.  If above 150, what mods do you have.  I have a stage 1 jet kit and high mount holeshot.

Many factors go into this but..

03 Bandit1200s w/ D&D can. Rest stock.

I am 6'4 weighing in at 250lbs full gear

The SPEEDO has read 160 while in a full tuck on a long ass straight. That is as much as I've been able to pull from her.

150 on the speedo on the new B1250. It was like pulling teeth to get her to that speed, couldn't squeeze even one more MPH out of her.

220 km/hr on the speedo (so...likely 195-200 real) which is about 138 mph. Maybe a little left, but not much.

B6, stock engine, stock pipe, stock airbox, just drilled pilot screws and 1 - 0.5 mm shim under needles.

The fastest I've ever gone was 140 km/h, and that was a mistake!

I don't need to have a faster top speed than anyone else, I just like getting up to my top speed faster than the cars around me.

The B12 is supposed to be good for an honest 150-155 mph (240-250 kph). Figuring the optimistic speedo, an indicated 160 or better should be attainable by most.

On my '01 B12S w/Holeshot Stage II, Holeshot 17" street s/o & ZG DB windscreen: Had it >150 indicated several times and just shy of 160 indicated once. (158? Hard to say for sure, didn't spend much time staring at the clocks at that rate.) I probably could have got a little more if I had more nerve... but I started thinking of what could go wrong riding that fast at that location and backed out.

Of course, I'd NEVER do anything like this on a public road. :annoy:
That would be criminal... and with WA's new speed laws that went into effect last month, anything 31mph or greater over the limit will get your bike/car impounded and get you a stay at the Gray Bar Hotel under the charge of felony reckless driving.

145 MPH indictated - was still pulling, but ran out of (closed) road.  Had a National Cycle F18 screen installed at the time.  Bike has a pipe, stage II jetting, stock gearing.

Have buried the speedo at what looks like 175 indicated.  Gearing is 15-47.  Naked bike-124hp.  Have not done the math but would estimate my actual at a little over 160mph.  The wind blast is unreal as I have not even a fly screen.  I can't imagine the fairing not helping.  By the way did not vote yet.  Do you want my actual or indicated speed for the vote?

Either way, it would put you in the "the one" category.  I've been going by the indicated speed for this poll.  Unless you were shot with a radar or timed, you won't get an exact speed.

I have no doubt that mine will run a true 180. It runs 140 in the 1/4, just barely getting into 4th gear
My peak HP is at 10,000, revlimiter is set at 10,500, at 10,500 the bike is making 152 RWHP, and would be going 182 mph. I have never gone that fast on the Bandit, and it might blow up before it got there, but it makes enought HP to get there :taz:

Fastest I've been on the B6 was 135mph and I tell you what, theres no potential to go faster. It gets up to 100 pretty quick but it takes a pretty good stretch to get up to 135. Needless to say, I've only done it once before. Not many roads straight enough around here to do it. Not to mention the fact it scares the shiiiiiaaat out of me going that fast! I'll enjoy the twisties instead!

I've got to say I've heard the 2d Gen B6 can go 141 with the right conditions.  I can't verify that, though.  Sorry.

But I do have to say that the twisties are far more enjoyable that any speed -- even normal highway speeds.

I've been right at 130 on my 1250...still pulling pretty good...but the wind blast on a 300+ lb man at that speed sucks.LOL  And bug hurt at that speed too.

You all know about Bandit Speedos being set to read 10 to 15 mph higher than actual, don't ya? I confirmed it with a hand held GPS. Some idiots' bright idea. God knows why.
