Tractor-trailer driver allegedly hits runs down moped, leaves scene

BOSTON -- An 18-wheeler is reportedly responsible for one death on the near a Mass Pike onramp Thursday night.
Police say the driver of the tractor-trailer hit a moped near the intersection of Newbury Street and Massachusetts Avenue and dragged the scooter down the off ramp of the Mass Pike, killing the rider and causing a tire fire on the truck.
Witnesses said the driver knew he had hit something and even stopped to remove the twisted moped that was being dragged by the truck.
Boston Police are looking for the driver of the truck that has a white cab and a white trailer. The suspect is described as a white male approximately 6'4", 240 pounds, blue jeans and blue shirt with a goatee.
