You're right ippo you can't get good and cheap but reasonable would be nice. I like the smart riders outfit that looks very good, but I can't find a price on it what would it sell for in Finland?

1500.00 euro is $2210 cdn dollars and 2199 usd I can buy a custom made leather jacket and pants to fit for about half so I don't think I'll buy one from Ruuko

I didn't find the prices on the site, but from what I have been seeing on prices, that is way out of my league.  I have survived crashes with much less expensive equipment and came out pretty good.  Not saying that those jackets are bad, but the average rider is not going to pay those kind of prices.  When I went to the bike show in Phoenix, I saw a dealer with British riding gear.  It looked ok, but it was quite expensive and I didn't see anything about those jackets that made me want to empty my wallet.

Not sure I'd trust air cushion "armor". I'm used to spending similar money for an outfit, but at least it's an outfit that can't pop like a balloon!

That Ruuko suit cant "pop like a balloon" its a fabric that stiffens on impact it doesn't "inflate"

I misunderstood the explanation and thought it used air-filled armor. Curious, tho, the SRO ANATOMIC jacket claims it's armor's "APS air Protectors meet the requirements of CE Norm EN1621-1 and EN1621-2". I'll assume this translates into CE-1 and CE-2.

However, on this page: http://tinyurl.com/38oyoh the armor is said to only be rated for "CE norm EN 1621-1" Hmmm.

It's been difficult for me to find riding gear that definitively identifies it's armor as true CE-2 armor. Most of it is CE-1, and while certainly better than nothing, is not that great, really. That's the only criticism I have of my Kevlar outfit, there's no real-world comparative figures for it trilaminate armor. This armor is similar (if not identical) to the stuff used in Aerostich gear. I've considered replacing it with CE-2 armor if I can find any that will fit. CE-2 armor is the only armor that has a measurable reference standard.

 Actully this is a good time to get good/cheap,or at least resonable. This is the time to look for close outs. Companies may be dropping a certain style for the new yrs. line up. I bought a set of Suzuki leathers,2 pc, zipps together all way around,all the armor,but just foam back protector for $400. There a few yrs old now,I need some new zippers in the sleeves. But other than that they held up well. Even through a 4th gear roll-on get off.
   For the few days of riding in the winter,I wear my insulated Carharts.They're just warmer!   Dan
