Hey everybody!
I've been getting a couple of PMs about this.
Sorry about that, I had to put you all into groups in order to send out an email letting people know where the site is.
Some of you may have gotten the message that I am sending out about the new location of the site, some of you won't have. I thought it might tick the ISP off a little if we were to send out 3824 messages in a few hours,
especially once I figured out that the entire population was going to get a "You have been added to this usergroup" message, plus the backup site message.
As the moderator of any message sent out, I get the message, but I didn't get the "group" message. I found out about that, when the other half got one and came downstairs and said "I got -2- messages,... "
phpBB, the software that we use to make BA a reality, has some weird ways of doing things, and I had to play it's game to get the word out.
The "group", in this case, isn't going to get you much. It just gives me the ability to send out a "mass" email, in the event of something major, like the board switch, happening. More than likely, I'm going to remove the groups at the end anyway, as I have a better method now.
And you don't have to worry, I'm not going to be sending out email messages on a regular basis, that was mostly for this one time, rather unique occasion.
There may be one more, when I remove people from the groups, as it's really not a maintainable scheme anyway.
