Hello!

My names Dave, I'm from Ireland and I bought myself a B6 on the 7th of April this year. I used to ride a CBR125R piece of crap and to date have been extremly impressed with the Bandits ability to do everything. Well, I haven't had it on ice yet and won't for quite some time.

The bad news is I haven't seen it for a week and don't expect to see it for another. I pranged it. My bueatiful baby. I was being a idiot. I collected it from the dealler after its first service and set off across the city center to a job interview. Finished up over there, strapped interview stuff to bike, pulled on biking stuff and set off.

Only to remember after getting to 50km/h in one rotation of the rear wheel that the disk lock was still on. The Engine bars I'd fitted did the job, I kissed them, and the exhaust wasn't badly damaged but one of the indicators went to bits but one of the front brake disks was destroyed. Not having the money for the van I babied the thing at walking pace back towards the dealer where things got much worse but thats a story for another time.

So. I'm stuck at home at the moment waiting to get my brand new busted up bike back. So I figure its as good a time as any to introduce myself here.

So... Hello.

Just an introduction to all.  I finally found a good bbs with Bandit info.  Just bought a used 2002 Bandit 600S with under 2K.  Previous owner had used it to learn on before moving to bigger BMW.  Well taken care of and rides smooth.

Feel free to pass on any advice since I'ma newbie rider using this bike as a first out of the MSF course.  So far it's been really easy to use although the power is deceptive after riding 250's for a weekend.

See you on the road,
Chris

BTW- Dates wrong on the photo, it was this week but my SO doesn't know how to work the camera.

:welcome: Chris!

As a new rider, just take it easy while getting used to your new bike. Yes, it's a world of difference from the MSF bikes. Pay attention, expect the unexpected and ride like you're invisible - because to many cages out there, you are.

:beers: Here's to many miles and years of happy and safe riding!  :bigok:

Thanks.  So far I've been doing neighborhood rides for about an hour or so at a stretch.  Clutch and throtle control seem to be more senistive so I've been doing a lot of starting/stopping and changing from 1st-2nd-3rd.  I know it's boring but slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

If I'm ready in two weeks to hit the big roads I'll be there.

Hello all,

my name is Chris and I own a 2002 B6 Bandit with 900 miles on it so far.

If you see a red B6 with a cautious rider in the Detroit area, that would be me!    - honing my motorcycle skills , as I haven't had my lic very long.    I did take the MSF course and I am trying to accumulate miles on my B6 to become a better rider.
