Got the bike back.. And learned a valuable lesson.
« on: September 21, 2005, 05:45:00 AM »
Finally got my B4 back, after months.  Here in Dubai its too hot to ride during summer anyway.  I've been riding now for about 3 weeks to and from the office.

Few days ago, I'm riding the bike on the back roads (doing this for now, less traffic and no morons in 4WDs with tinted windows yacking on their cellphones), and I saw this red car in front of me.

We took a roundabout and came on this straight stretch of road (single carriageway).  I was still accelerating out of the turn when I realised (almost too late) that he was stopping in the middle of the road.

I yanked hard on the front brake and put my foot down on the back.  The bike fishtailed a bit, but still remained upright.  The little speed that was left was enough to swerve and pass him.

The reason...?

Brake lights that dont work.  (Well he was an idiot too)

Lesson learned..?  Don't trust indicators on steel cages..
