ok, this might be a stupid question, but I'm new to this (got my license a week ago). Is there a lock or something for helmets to be left on a bike, or do you just trust people not to take it? I see a lot of bikes with helmets on the sides and wonder how they're kept on. Also, if anyone wants to take a look at
my tech question (99 600s idles but won't rev), I would be extremely grateful for any input.

I have a couple different helmets,and you can bet I don't trust leaving my $400+ Aria setting next to the bike. I'll either use the helmot lock on the side(with my cheaper helmet) or I'll take my Aria with me,I don't like it getting sceatched or nicked putting it on or off the helmet lock.

I usually take my Shoei helmet with me too..... I have seen or read too many stories about using the helmet lock and someone cutting the strap. The better quality helmets come with a nice carry bag that stores pretty small.

The only problem on group rides is finding a spare table at the restaurant for all our gear.

There is a loop on the seat release lock that you can stick your helmet on.
It fits through the d-rings. If you notice when you turn the key on the seat....it moves down a bit.
Bad thing is, if it rains, the inside of the helmet will get wet.
Other than that.....take it with you, or stash it inside either some hard or soft luggage you have on the bike.

in the uk leaving your lid attached to your bike just makes it easyer to steal the bike, cops are less likly to stop a bike if the rider is wearing a lid, if hes not wearing one then he will be stopped, so in essence i would rather carry my lid arround with me than leave it on the bike

If the bike is parked in sight (like a meal stop), or in my garage, the helmet hangs from the mirror (in thru the head hole and out thru the face hole). Otherwise it goes with me.

Trust someone not to take it? A couple months ago I was in Buffalo Wild Wings for an hour, and when I came out, someone had CUT my helmet off the helmet lock, leaving just the D-rings behind. Yeah, that's great, reduce a $450 helmet to garbage. I doubt the person who did it has access to an upholstery sewing machine to put new rings on, will just wear it for show, or possibly let his hoochy mama wear it when he takes her out for a spin to Beale Street on Saturday night. I am now only leaving the helmet locked on the bike when I will not be gone long, or when I am comfortable that I can see the bike from where I will be.

It depends on wear I am at when it comes to locking my helmet. Some places like on the base, I'll sometimes lock it to the seat. But most of the time, I will go through the trouble and take it with me. Also it depends on the weather too, if it is extremely hot or possibility of rain, I will definitely take it inside with me.

I have the Scorpion EXO-700 and it came with a nice storage bag. I don't dare leave it on the bike, locked or not. It may be a pain from time to time depending on where I'm at, but at least I know I will still have it.
