Whats in your tool kit?
« on: January 23, 2009, 12:41:22 AM »
Can someone list the spanners etc in the 1250s toolkit, mine were stolen or kept by the previous owner after it was written off (before I fixed it up) and the dealer says he needs a list to get one together  :annoy: :thanks:

This is absolute BS the toolkit that comes standard wth any vehicle is available as a spare part. Eight years working as a Suzuki parts interpretor tells me this. Regardless of which I suggest you put your own together.

Yes Dink is right. I have a friend that also used to be a Suzuki mechanic (very handy as he is my riding companion) and he says that you should be able to order the complete kit as one part and it should come all inclusive. Don't let your local "stealer" tell you that 'cause it's just not true...Banditone1250s...

You know it, I know it, but the fact remains, all I got when I ordered the whole kit was,  pouch, 1x pliers,1x double ended screwdriver,2x spanners(10+12,14+17)and an allen key. WTF can you do with them? The spare parts guy told me thats the standard tool kit and that I would have to order whatever else I needed seperately.
I'm guessing there should be an adjuster for the rear suspension and maybe a spanner of some sort to adjust the rear axle maybe? but WTF would I know?
All I need is a list and I can order the f.....s :banghead: :thanks:

I've added a few allen wrenches and small crescent wrench.  The pouch is really tight and the rubber band has broken.

The Guzzi didn't have it's factory kit (not sure  Guzzi ever had one).  Went to Steve's Tool and got a cheap allen wrench set, crescent wrench, screw driver with replaceable bits, and pouch.  Not sure if I bought some cheap pliers.  Think I might need a Leatherman to fill it out.

Thanks Lowey, I'm just a big fan of having the original shit for any of my bikes, I even bought the little handbook that should have been under the seat but the same person that taxed the toolkit most likely taxed that too. :yikes:

I thought everybody knew they're the same thing, sorry bout that.  :thanks: again.

I glad that helped.
By the way, I knew what a spanner was, but I had to give you a hard time, since you probably have decent riding weather and it's snowy & cold here.

You are a funny guy!! Yeah it's as hot as f..k right now, 34deg celcius ( I'm not working it out) which would be AROUND 90+ I guess, but humid as. Just can't bring myself to put gear on around town.
I MAY be heading your way in a month or so, it's not definate yet, but will be based in  Gainesville Georgia if it comes off, I'll PM you when I know more and look you up. Have to get the ok from the minister for war and finance first ha ha.

Your calculations are correct Sir:
Celsius 34 plus 32 times 9 divided by 5 = Fahrenheit 91.6
This morning it's 7 fahrenheit at my place, which I think is -10.8 celsius!

I would really like to meet you in Gainsville (as I believe I would be riding all year round in that climate), but I’m not sure if I can get the time off from work, and then I would also require the ok from my Ministress of War & Finance!  Keep me posted as the 1,000 mile ride is not totally out of the question.

Thats way too cold for me(never been to the snow) I'd have to move to a warmer climate mate, how do you blokes put up with that?
If I get to get over to your fine country, I'll be crewing for a friend of mine that races a Top Alcohol Funny Car in the Lucas Oil ranks so we would be all over the place. I don't have his race shedule yet but we will be closer to you at some stage than Gainesville. The plan is to be there for 3 months so there will be time to catch up. It all hinges on a job I've applied for in Western Australia (the other side of Aust) if I get it I can't go to the U.S for 12 months. If I don't get it (with wifeys permission) I'm there.  :bandit:  Russ.

Celsius?  Fahrenheit?

We get all the weather here.  Today it's freezing mist and in 20s.  Had to leave work early to make it home on dangerously slick streets.  Sections of elevated highway closed down -just too slick.

Last week we got up to the 70s and had some great riding weather.
