Feigning sleep didn't fool cops on chase

City cops on the look-out for a pair of motorcyclists weren't fooled when they found their suspects pretending to sleep.

Officers were in the area of 180 Street and 75 Avenue around 2:30 a.m. yesterday when they spotted a motorcycle being driven with an unattached licence plate.

When the officers tried to stop the bike, its two occupants - a man and woman - ran into a house.

Police entered the home and found the pair reclined on the couch, pretending to sleep. They discovered a loaded weapon and several rounds of ammunition, as well as a second stolen motorcycle.

Douglas Howard Coxworthy, 30, is facing numerous charges.
