is there a way to put frame sliders on the bandit?

Before you go ahead, do a quick check with your insurance company.
Have seen and heard of a few bikes that have been fitted with frame sliders, and the insurance companies have not honoured the claims made. Purely because of the frame sliders. Fairings and stuff are cheaper to replace, than bent frames. Their words not mine.

The NRC covers are the way to go. I'd put them on first.........
I have both the NRC covers, and frame sliders. The sliders mostly protect the bike in little tipovers.........
If my bike falls over, usually I just break a mirror.
The NRC covers do more to protect the engine.

OK, I've heard of these, but I'm not sure I get it. Do they replace the crankcase covers that came with the bike, or glue/bolt on top of them?

What are they made of that's so great?

They replace them.

They're made of thick cast aluminum.

There's also pretty polished ones made of billet aluminum (and they're much more expensive), but the cast ones are said to be stronger.

I recommend them; went down a month ago & they did a proper job, just have a gander at this.

PS these were only on 2 weeks!

Wow, they did the job alright! Good to know. I got mine mostly for a garage tipover (yes, I've done it before

), but I'd heard they were as good or better than Suzuki/Givi crash bars.

I believe crash bars would give better results. After all they do cover more and spread any impact to more than just one point on the frame.

Depends on the crash bars....
MY Suz bars on my '99 folded up in a 20 mph crash, and punched a hole in the side cover anyway.....

When I went down a few weeks ago my bike slid on the NRC cover,bottom side of the bar end,bobbin on back of the swing arm, the middle of the side body where it pertrudes out the farthest(used to pertrude out the fathest). The NRC cover did a good job keeping oil off the track and protecting my motor.Not sure exactly how fast but was in the middle of a 4th gear roll-on. If the bike did'nt hit the grass and flop,I'd been able to hop right back on.
