New BT016 tires

New Enough sent out an email this week about them taking orders for the new BT016 from Bridgestone. I've been running the BT014 on my FZR for years now (tires options suck when you have a 18" rear). Happy to see that the new -016 will be available in 18" as well.

Interested to start seeing feedback on these, so if anybody plans on picking up a pair post up some comments about them. If I hear decent things about the new Bridgey's then I may give them a go after my Powers are done.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I'm looking at these as well.

Unfortunately, due to where I live, there's simply no escaping the straight up riding. There are curves but basically if I take the bike to work it's 25 miles one way of mainly straight boring highway.

Anyone have any input yet? Turn in? How are they wearing thus far?

i've been looking for these myself...looks like i'll be able to get them mid July. IF I can stretch my current rubber that long. All the reviews I've read so far sound positive, guess we'll never really know till we try. I like the 014 I have on the front now but with just 2k on them they are showing way too much wear so I'm hoping the 16 will last a bit longer.

I hope so as well. I ordered through Chaparral, hopefully next weekend on I can get them on. I do hope they last awhile, however, I'm really surprised by tire prices. I paid these prices almost 10 years ago. Prices have almost stayed the same. Pretty cool. :)

Holy crap do they have some good pricing. I've been looking at other sites and not many can beat them...and free shipping on top of it....nice  Thanks for that link.

I'm going to need new rubber for my track day coming up and think I'm going to give these a whirl. Bit cheaper than the Powers I have now and am curious to compare the two.

well I just got word these MAY be in tomorrow...just in time too, sadly my current Maxxis rear is showing it's strings [insert embarrassed pause here]. Will let you guys know what I think once I've had them on for a week or two and done a few hundred miles.
Can't wait to be honest...there is never anything like the feeling of new shoes on a bike once they are scrubbed in.

Okay early report on the BT-016, got them put on the rims Friday then suffered food poisoning that night  didn't even take them for their first test ride as I was in no shape too. Got enough energy to go for a longer ride on Saturday to scrub them in. They seem to work very well, but it's always hard to tell because new tires just always feel good. They didn't take very long to get a bit scrubbed in and I never felt a slip on the front or rear. The ride lasted a good 230km I'm fairly confident they hold decent now, all the tire marker is worn off. This morning on the cold wet roads the improvement over my old tires was noticeable as they never felt 'cold'. I'll report again when I start feeling more alive and able to go for some more rides.

Yepper, got a few hundred miles on mine as well. As soon as I got 'em good and scrubbed in, hit up a nice curvy road close to home.

World of difference between my old tires. Very confident inspiring, turn in is just amazing. Very linear. Old tires felt like a cap, riding on the center riding on the center, I'm leaning here damn it! then it would fall in. YUCK.

Very smooth. This was after we got a LOT of rain. Out here in the desert, when it rains, it RAINS. Dirt all over roads, several times I felt a bit of a slide in a few corners. Real happy so far. NOT happy with Cycle Gear and their $30 a tire fee. That doesn't include disposal of old tires, stems, etc...BULLSHIT.

I'm getting my own tire changing rig next time. Oh, glad the link worked out. Always out to save a buck!

The chicken strips are slowly getting smaller again. The tires feel really sticky right from the beginning, my bf has now put some on his GSXR and early reports are he is pleased as well.
