New guy to BanditAlley
« on: February 05, 2010, 06:01:35 AM »
Hey, everybody!

My name is Ed and I'm a member of the Bandit brotherhood as of this last fall/winter.

I got my '05 blu/wht/blu B12S in September of last year by putting it on layaway at the Suz/Kaw dealer I started frequenting about two years ago.

You see, I had Gastric Bypass surgery on November 23, 2005 and have since lost about 350 lbs.  My wife (God bless her) said that since I went through so much with losing the weight that I could get another MC.  I had an '84 Honda V45 Sabre when we were first married, but I had no time to ride and gave it up.

Right when she said I could get another MC I started my research.  I soon became convinced that the Bandit was for me.   :thumb:  Everything about the bike was right on.  Reliability, ease of maintenance, mod potential, everything.  It took me two years to find her, but I did it.  If everything goes well I'll be taking delivery on March 1st and havin' myself a ball.

I live in Crystal Lake, Illinois and really would like to meet up with anyone close by for some good old MC fellowship.  I'm sure I'll have a good time here and as I'll be recouping from some reconstructive surgery on my abs (because of excess tissue after the weight loss) I'll be around a bit.  Although, I will be splitting my time between you guys and another forum so maybe I wont become too much of a pest.

Oh, even though I'm first taking delivery in March I'm planning a trip to Hayward, WI come this summer.  I think my Men's Group from church will be having our retreat up there sometime in June.  Can't wait, good times.  Lots of beautiful scenery so I'll try to post some pics when I figure out how here.

Well thanks for taking me on and I look forward to being a pleasant, positive, contributing member of your community.
