I had one of the best rides of my life last weekend. I took rt 164 east from Portage ( Johnstown/Ebensburg area) to rt 26 north. I then took rt 994 east across Raystown Lake and into Orbisonia. I went south to Shade gap and took rt 35 to rt 322 and home to Manheim. 994 is like a roller coaster, what a blast, I was laughing in my helmet. 35 goes along the Blue Mtn//Shade Mtn range, beautiful wide open farmland. I'm gonna do it again next weekend, awsome ride!

Hey Tundra, it looks like you're close to rt 144. I rode that last summer and it's a blast also, especially south of Renovo. I totally understand the work thing. That's why it's a four letter word

Hey Dandit, you went right through my home town of Martinsburg on 164.  They repaved 164 from Portage down to US 220 for the Tour de Toona. Can you believe those crazy bicyclist ride up that thing.  They are also repaving alot of the roads around Lake Raystown to help bring in more tourist.  They have cabins at the lake to rent, would be a nice place to get a Bandit get together and ride the raods that you experienced.

Another PA rider here.  I know of those roads you talk about.  I live in Cambria County, near Ebensburg, which is inbetween Altoona and Johnstown.

I've been to Ephrata a number ot times, but not in the past year.  I'll have to make it with my new (to me) Bandit.

It's really cool to see more "central Pa" riders  . We'll have to hook up when the weather breaks, about 5 months from now  . A Bandit gathering at Lake Raystown sounds like a blast  The resort at the lake is dry so you'll have to bring your own beverages. :beers:

I'm a little farther east but a trip to Raystown sounds like fun.  I haven't been there since I was little.  I will keep my eyes open.

Howdy boyerg, I see you're close to rt 125 that comes into Shamokin, what a blast that is  . PA has some really cool roads if you hunt a little. Let's hope this winter is a quick one. :beers:

dbandit, never been on rt125.  I have to give it a look soon as I get some better weather.  Ever been on rt 339 from Mifflinville to Mahanoy City there are some rough bits but the good part are great.
