Wind Chill is here!
« on: September 30, 2005, 05:53:09 PM »
Upper 30's/low 40's this a.m.!!!  It's too soon for this, but the bike ran freakin' fantastic in the cooler weather.  My Vanson has a perf body and froze me gonads off.  Put on the small Ntl. Cycle fairing - just the ticket for this weather.  Time to change back to 10/40 wt.  Should have the NRC covers next week so it'll be just in time.

If you've got a rain suit, put the jacket on over the perf jacket.  Sure does block the wind!
Looks like you're a candidate for a 3-4 season jacket with a liner.....

Yup...that's last year's Fieldsheer....loveD the jacket/liner until the zippers started going south and jamming.  Back to the leather.  An insulated liner is soon to come from Vanson and I've got the Reima bib overalls to keep me gams and gonads warm.  When it really cranks up the big Ntl. Cycle III goes on.

A local Korean Dry cleaner/tailor replaced a zipper on my First Gear Granite jacket for $25.  May be worth saving?

I wear a Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket in all seasons. When it gets into the low 40's, I slip on my Gerbing heated liner on before donning the jacket. That'll take me down to temps lower than I'm willing to ride in since black ice is a common problem around here when temps get below 32F, I don't ride once it gets below freezing. Fortuneately, we don't get much weather that cold here.

gotta check out the Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese/Thai (whatever she is) up the block.  that might be a solution to saving the jacket.  it's great for warmer weather with the vents open.

Not much weather below 32 in Washington???  Hmmmmmm.  My cutoff is around 20...then it's garage time.

Hittin' the road....catch ya'll tomorrow.

Not in the coastal regions. Plenty of it in the mountains (where you'll find world record annual snowfall numbers) and the eastern half of the state.

When the snow flies down here, I break out the dirt bike and play in it.

I rode home last night in 40 degree temperatures. All the way home I was thinking about buying electric clothing. Man I froze my nads off. I have to get me some of those heated grips too.

What is good in electric clothing?

Gerbing & Widder. Both make heated vests, but AFAIK, Widder doesn't make a jacket, but Gerbing does.

You can make a heated gear by adding electric blanket wire to your own jacket/vest/pants/whatever. Here's one of several how-to articles out there on how to do it:

Every time I see your posts, I mean to tell ya - In NY State, 1192 is the section of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law for DWI.  (It jumps out at me after typing it numerous times/night for the last 14yrs. of my PD career.)

Cheers  :beers:

With that grill, it'd be '68 or '69. The '70 models look like this:

It's an El Camino - not sure which year.....'67?  Belongs to the landlord's son.  Things rotted out to hell and has been laying there for years.

It's either a 68 or 69, they are the only years with the angled back front fenders.
