Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good winter glove for around $50 or less? Would they double as a good ski glove? I am about to go on my first ski trip and instead of spending money on gloves that I might wear once every few years, I was wondering if I could use motorcycle gloves instead.

I use neoprene (neo upper/leather palm) dirt bike riding gloves in winter and they do a good job and still have dexterity, called Alloy Rev Gloves, the black & gray look cool and feel great. I only use dirt bike riding gloves because the stuff they sell for the street is too bulky and expensive. You can find them on sale for $8 at :

I agree with the above with a small addition. I bouhgt some nice tourmaster heavy winter gloves. Very warm and nice but far too bulky. Bulky enough that they make my hands uncomfortable and even cramp on occation because there is not enough dextarity and flexability.

I use a non vented summer weight glove now with the addition of grip warmers. For uber cold rides I have a pair of hippo hands I slip on the bike.

I have a pair of Olympia 1310 Trailblazer II's http://www.olympiagloves.com/glovedetails/1310.html A little bulky, but a very nice glove for less than $35. They have a little squeegee built in to wipe water from your face shield, cool

Thanks for the suggestions!

But do you think they might double as a good glove for snowboarding or are they not good for snow? I have never really seen more than like half an inch of snow (grew up in East Texas).

The Olympia should be fine for snowboarding. They are well insulated, waterproof and have an elastic drawstring closure at the cuff to keep snow out.

Well the gloved I recommended is from a guy that lives in Arizona desert and even though neoprene does a good job at retaining heat in winter here (40-50 degrees), we all know that snow is a completely different jungle where bulky my not be such a bad idea, especially in the snow ball throwing department.
